Embalming Tips & Airbrush Cosmetics (2 CEU)

Course Description:  This comprehensive course is designed to provide advanced knowledge and practical skills in embalming

techniques and airbrush cosmetics. Through a combination of theoretical instruction, hands-on demonstrations,

and interactive discussions, participants will gain in-depth understanding of the latest embalming tips and airbrush cosmetics used in the prep room. A HIGHLIGHT of this presentation is learning about the fundamentals of color theory. This will provide a foundation for understanding how colors interact and how they can be used in cosmetic applications.

Module 1: Embalming Techniques - Introduction to embalming: It’s purpose and legal considerations. Embalming techniques for different cases including nail bed staining, tissue building, Jaundice & Edema treatments.

Module 2: Airbrush Cosmetics & Color Theory - The benefits and differences between traditional cosmetics & Airbrush cosmetics

-Airbrush equipment and maintenance: selection, cleaning, and troubleshooting

-Understanding color theory and its application in airbrush cosmetics

-Color correction and concealing - Provide examples to illustrate the effectiveness of using color correction methods

-Techniques for achieving natural skin tones, shading, and highlighting

-Creating natural skin tones simply using the 3 primary colors (Demonstration)

-Airbrush cosmetics for facial features: eyes, lips, and eyebrows

-Special effects techniques - create aging lines after restoration or waxing

-Enhancing hair and scalp using airbrush techniques

Module 3: Demonstrations - Live demonstration of airbrush cosmetics on mannequins and myself.

Q&A sessions to address specific concerns and challenges faced by participants. By the end of this session, participants will have acquired advanced embalming techniques and airbrush cosmetic skills, enabling them to provide exceptional services to grieving families. They will also gain a deeper understanding of safety protocols, ethical considerations, and problem-solving strategies. (CEU 2 hours)

All courses are CEU approved with APFSP and also TFSC (for Texas Licenses)
